The wonderful thing about virtual reality — or one of them, anyway — is that you might be able to go bungee jumping off a cliff or skateboarding up the side of a canyon without worrying about breaking a leg.
Now a new series from Vice Sports could take you there.
Vice Sports has teamed up with lead sponsor Reebok for “The Moment,” a series that highlights a variety of athletes and “gives viewers a first-hand experience of extreme sports.”
According to AdWeek, The Moment is using YouTube’s 360-degree virtual reality functionality, previously employed by Lincoln Motor Company, Syfy, MTV, and GoPro, among others.
The series just launched. Up first is Parkour athlete and stuntman Ronnie Shalvis as he performs, jumps, and flips through Goblin Valley State Park.
It’s the latest move for Vice Sports, which has produced documentaries on the rock climbing scene in Lebanon as well as top NBA draft pick Karl-Anthony Towns in the days leading up to the recent NBA Draft.
