The newest pioneers in virtual reality want you to take a seat — literally — and check out their freshly launched Kickstarter campaign.
At the heart of the effort is what’s known as VRGO.
Calling it a chair that “redefines movement in virtual reality by creating an affordable, immersive and responsive VR experience through hands free movement,” can now be backed by everyone on Kickstarter.
It’s no secret that one of the biggest issues currently facing the VR industry is that of movement within the Virtual world, moving away from stick yaw control, WASD, and mouse inputs and towards the hands free alternatives unlocks new experiences created by the deeper levels of presence they’re able to unlock.
As of this writing, $28,443 has been raised of the $30,864 goal.
All told, it’s pretty remarkable technology that could change the way VR content is experienced and enjoyed. But to build it, the makers of VRGO need some help.
“For the VRGO to be manufactured and delivered to you we need the funds to design and manufacture our own sensor module,” the Kickstarter page reads. “Help us make this virtual dream a reality today!”
