The National Football League and VOKE have just announced a collaboration to create a “personalized, fully immersive virtual reality highlights experience” for NFL fans worldwide by leveraging VOKE’s TrueVR technology.
VOKE, if you’re not familiar, is a leader in live event virtual reality. Naturally, a pairing with the NFL makes for a comfortable fit.
So how will the new high-tech teammates seek to score?
During the final weeks of the 2016 regular season, VOKE will produce highlights in virtual reality from four NFL games that will allow fans to be transported onto the field no matter where they are. Fans will be able to experience in-game and postgame highlights starting with the Denver Broncos at Jacksonville Jaguars game on Dec. 4, followed by the New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Dec. 11, the Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans on Dec. 18, and the Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles on Jan. 1.
“Virtual reality has the potential to bring a unique perspective to our fans to complement the different ways they currently enjoy the game today,” said William Deng, Director, Media Strategy and Business Development at the NFL. “We look forward to working with VOKE as we continue to experiment and create new experiences in this emerging medium.”
