Busch Gardens Williamsburg recently announced an all-new virtual reality attraction, the details of which were formally shared this week with VRJournal.
The offering in question, we’re told, will enable guests to “ride through the magical Irish Otherworld” in an adventure filled with everything from dragons to fairies.
Following in the pioneering VR footsteps of Six Flags and other leading global theme parks, Busch Gardens asserts that it will quickly join similar ranks.
The attraction in question will introduce “innovative virtual reality technology specifically designed to offer hygienic and high-capacity solutions for theme park operations.”
We’re told that SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, owner and operator of Busch Gardens parks, has selected Falcon’s Creative Group to design and develop the immersive virtual reality experience and storyline for the attraction.
“Our team is beyond proud and honored to be collaborating with SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment once again,” says Cecil Magpuri, President and Chief Creative Officer at Falcon’s Creative Group. “We are innovating the next generation of attractions that will transform how guests experience reality. We now hope to revolutionize how the themed entertainment industry embraces VR technology.”
Unfortunately, it’s still much too early to get in line for the ride. The new attraction is not set to open until 2018.
